Our Trust

WHY CHELSEA AND WESTMINSTER HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST?

Expectant women require specialist attention. We provide exceptional care for our women and babies and pride ourselves in supporting our staff with training and development opportunities and great benefits.

We offer an exciting career journey

One that puts passionate people, willing to go the extra mile for our patients, on our maternity wards, and neonatal and special care baby units. We’re a resilient team working seamlessly together to provide safe and compassionate care for our communities.

Our innovation is key

Each year, we invest £10m across our estates to expand our facilities. Recent key projects include the redevelopment of our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and our children’s unit at West Middlesex.

We work closely with our hospital charity CW+ who, with the support of our local communities, support these and other development projects.

Our working environments

We’re one of the safest and highest performing NHS trusts in the country. Our staff are engaged, motivated and say they would recommend Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as a place to work and receive care.

The Trust was rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission in the well-led and use of resources domains. We were rated ‘good’ in the safe, effective, caring and responsive domains. As a whole, the Trust was rated ‘good’, with an ‘outstanding’ rating for the Chelsea site.

What our staff say

Hear about some of our people’s journeys and experiences.

Nusi, Midwife

“I’ve wanted to be a midwife since I was young. I picked all health and science courses at school to help steer me towards this career. I went on to get a job as a maternity support worker to get a better insight into the role of a midwife here at Chelsea and Westminster. I then got into one of the best teaching schools for midwifery.

“The team at Chelsea and Westminster are so supportive and were here to help midwives in their journey to develop their skills and become confident practitioners.

Nusi, Midwife

“I trained overseas in India, and I have been in the neonatal field for more than 11 years. I joined West Middlesex in 2016 as a healthcare assistant and worked my way to staff nurse. I have loved every single day of my job and feel privileged to care for babies from their first day of life.

“Unlike paediatrics and adults, babies cannot convey their feelings in words, and I feel proud to be their voice with keen observation and understanding of their needs. It is indeed a pleasure to be an advocate for them.

“For me, this is a most rewarding job and, at West Middlesex, we have an excellent team who help and support each other to excel in the profession.”
